The Ascot Charity Ball is heralded as one of the most prestigious events in Ascot racecourse’s social calendar – the next event is to be held on [X May 2009.]

Hosted by the Ascot Charitable Trust (ACT) the Ascot Charity Ball is in its sixth year and as a successful fundraising initiative, grows from strength to strength year on year.

The evening offers ample opportunity for impressive entertaining and the line up includes a champagne reception, gala dinner, and great live entertainment including both cabaret and celebrity guests.

A grand auction also takes place to support this years’ appointed charities – prizes include memorabilia and romantic holiday  - and as the evening unfolds, you and your guests can enjoy a silent auction, tombola and dancing into the small hours to a guest band.

The proceeds of the Ascot Charity Ball 2008 went to the NSPCC and ChildLine (now formally united) and a host of local charities. These included: Naomi House, People to Places, St John Ambulance, Treolar Trust, Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.

A brief history of the Ascot Charity Ball

Following a very successful ball held in 2001, attended by a host of celebrities and raising £55,000 for ChildLine, the Ascot Charitable Trust (ACT) was founded.

Today’s Chairman, Alan Carr, established the Trust as a means of thanking the Thames Valley and Air Ambulance Team, a voluntary organisation whose life-saving intervention had resuscitated a dear friend of his in 2002. A ball was held, again to resounding success and the event became an annual occasion.
